When it is easier to show than to explain, we will do a quick Zoom call. You share your screen, we walk you through it, and if you like, we click for you. Use this page while you are already talking with us.
On a computer
Takes about two minutes the first time, less after that.
- Open the Zoom link we send you in the chat, by email or by text.
-
Let it open the Zoom app. Your browser will ask to open Zoom: click Open. No Zoom app yet? Click Download and install it, it takes a minute.
Please use the Zoom app, not the browser version. The browser version lets you share your screen, but we cannot click for you.
- Join the call. If you see Please wait, the host will let you in soon, that is normal. We will let you in.
- Click Share (the green button at the bottom of the Zoom window), pick your screen, then click Share again. Now we see what you see.
-
If we need to click for you, Zoom will show busytask is requesting remote control. Click Approve. You can take back control any time by clicking your mouse, or end it all by clicking Stop Share.
On a Mac, the first time: your Mac may ask to allow Zoom for Screen Recording and Accessibility. Click Open System Settings, switch Zoom on, then go back to the call. Without this we would only see a blank screen.
On a phone or tablet
On phones and tablets we can see your screen and guide you, but we cannot tap for you.
- Get the Zoom app if you do not have it: search for Zoom Workplace in the App Store or Google Play.
- Tap the Zoom link we send you and join the call.
- Tap Share, then Screen. On an iPhone or iPad tap Start Broadcast. On Android tap Start now.
- Go to the app or page we are helping with. We will walk you through every step.
- When we are done, tap Stop Share and leave the call.
You stay in controlWe only see your screen while you share it, and you can stop at any time.
Your passwords stay yoursType passwords yourself. We will never ask you to say or send them.
Only with usJoin only when you are already talking with busytask. We will never call you out of the blue asking to see your screen.
